This page lists what Gateway Scientific Inc. stores in your browser when you visit https://www.gatewayscientific.com, what each item does, and how to change your mind.

The short version: we run no advertising cookies and no third-party tracking pixels. Nothing on this site follows you to another website.

What a cookie actually is

A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to keep. Related technologies — local storage and session storage — do much the same job and are covered by this policy too.

They matter because they can be used to recognise a browser across visits. Ours are used to remember your own choices on this site, and nothing more.

Strictly necessary

These make the site work. They cannot be switched off, and they are not used to profile you.

• Consent choice — stores whether you accepted optional analytics, so we stop asking. Kept in local storage under the key gsi-consent, on your device only, until you clear your browser data.
• Security and abuse prevention — our contact and quote forms are rate-limited by IP address to stop automated submissions. This is a short-lived server-side record, not a cookie.
• Load balancing and delivery — our hosting provider may set a short-lived cookie to route your request. It carries no personal information.

Optional analytics

If you choose Accept all, we may record aggregate, privacy-respecting usage data: which pages get read, which links get clicked, and roughly where visitors come from. We use it to work out which pages actually help laboratories and which ones are wasting your time.

If you choose Essential only, this is not collected. The site behaves identically either way — no content is withheld and no feature is degraded.

We do not use this data to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell or share it with advertising networks.

What we deliberately do not do

• No advertising or retargeting cookies.
• No social media tracking pixels.
• No cross-site profiling, and no data brokers.
• No fingerprinting to identify you when cookies are cleared.

Campaign parameters

If you arrive from a link carrying campaign parameters such as utm_source or utm_campaign, those values are read from the address bar at the moment you submit a form, and stored alongside your enquiry so we know which of our efforts reached you. They are not written to a cookie and they do not follow you around the web. See the Privacy Policy for how enquiry data is handled.

Third parties

The site loads fonts from Google Fonts, which may log the request as part of delivering the font files. No cookie is set by that request.

Forms you submit are sent to our own server and forwarded to our customer relationship management platform so we can reply. That happens only when you submit a form — never from simply reading a page.

Changing your choice

Clear this site's data in your browser and the consent prompt will appear again on your next visit:

• Chrome / Edge — Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies → See all site data and permissions.
• Safari — Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data.
• Firefox — Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Manage Data.

You can also block cookies entirely in your browser settings. This site is built to keep working if you do.
